Bohemian style originated from a place in central Europe called Bohemia, a place where artistic creation flourished and social conventions shunned. Artists were poor and wore old baggy clothing which was a look reinvented in the 60's and 70's with floaty fabrics. Hippies at this time rejected mainstream values which translated in their fashion choices and nod to European Bohemia styles to reflect this. The style was streamlined through this time of boho creation with silhouettes including flares and bells and provocative materials of lace and velvet.
Modern Boheme takes this bohemian basis and adds some sparkle and street, it's a mix of boho, rock, and retro glam.
