Tell me about yourself and your personal style...
Hey, I'm Kim 35 origanlly from the UK. Having always been a wild child at heart, my desire to explore as much of the world as I can found me settling here in gorgeous Aotearoa in 2017. I've always considered myself to be a bit of a hippy and my love for crystals & cacti go way back as far as I can remember. I think this naturally follows through into my personal style, which If I had to name I would say is a modern boho style.
What attracted you to the collection piece you selected?
Having bought a few items at Taylor Cove previously, I was absolutely blown away & honored to be asked to be their monthly muse. Everything Saar stocks in is absolutely devine & I found it quite difficult to chose. However when I saw the release of the Barefoot Blonde collection I absolutely fell in love with it. I love how special a beautiful feminine dress can make you feel and that exactly how I felt putting this on, it was as if the piece was made for me.
How would you describe your unique body shape and what clothing styles do you gravitate to because of your shape?
Like many women out there, I haven't always been confident in the way I look & the shape I was given. Being only 5'2 every inch matters, however when you find the right clothing to fit you, it can honestly change your world. I have a natural hour glass shape, that's softer around the edges & finding something to sinch me in at the waist but be flattering around the bottom is often hard to find, I either have to go real baggy & unflattering or tight & uncomfortable, but this piece snug in all the right places & i have never felt more comfortable in my own skin.
When online shopping what is most important to you?
When looking at brands/shopping for clothes I want to find something that I feel amazing in & know that I could wear again and again & feel equally as good in it as the first day i put it on. Sustainability is also a massive selling point for me. I love finding treasured pieces in op shops, I often will gift old clothes of mine to friends & family & love companies that are forward thinking in the ways in which they try to give back to mother nature too.
What is your favourite time of the year and why?
For me, Autumn has to be my most favorite time of the year, no matter where in the world I am. I am obsessed with the orange hues & earthy tones & autumnal fashion is probably my favorite too (you can't beat a cute floaty dress, a light jacket & a fedora hat).
If you could be any animal which would you be?
My favorite animals are elephants, so I would have to say an elephant. I love how they are so special unique to their species and communicate through vibration & I'm all about connecting to that natural energy...They also love food & are constantly eating too (something I also share in common with them!)
